The Speckled Band and Other Stories. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The proposed book is a collection of engrossing stories by the classic of the English literature Arthur Conan Doyle (1859—1930) about the worldwide famous detective Sherlock Holmes. It is the recital about a per-son who sees and hears the same things as the others do, but he notices much more, and makes conclusions which save people’s lives, restore justice or simply settle disputes. Whatever strange the situation may seem, for Sherlock Holmes it always has logic explanation, that is why he confidently gets down to the most intricate criminal cases and makes them successfully out.

The works by Arthur Conan Doyle are a standard of crime fiction books and his creation — a detective Sherlock Holmes — due to his exceptional analytical aptitudes, the ability to make out the most intricate cases, — has long ago turned from the literary hero into the world-famous legend. The sharpness of his wit, the logic of his conclusions and the ability to untwine the knots of the crime motives, and, as it may seem, slightly connected facts, sometimes even without leaving the room, carry away the readers and force them together with the main heroes to look for the ways of solving, at first sight, undecided problems.
