Persuasion

The novel “Persuasion” belongs to the gold classics of world literature. It is one of the most autobiographical novels of Jane Austen (1775—1817). The protagonist Anne Elliot resembles the author quite a lot, and her love story is really similar to the writer’s own story. As well as Anne, Jane fell in love with an insolvent young man and broke up with him having given up to her relatives’ insistence. However, despite the writer has eventually not got a possibility to make her personal life, she gives her heroine a chance to be happy.

Smart and sensible Anne Elliot, an impoverished baronet's daughter, falls in love with the young man who has neither wealth nor titles. Her relatives consider her choice wrong, and the girl eventually gives up to their suasions, though deep in her heart she secretly cherishes hope to stay together with her beloved one. After more than seven years, the protagonists meet again. Now Anne's chosen one is a prosperous and successful captain of the Royal Navy who is going to marry another woman. What will eventually win — wounded pride, old offences, misunderstandings or true love that will be strong enough to overcome all these obstacles?

Головна героїня роману Анна Еліот багато в чому схожа на авторку, а розповідь про її кохання дуже нагадує власну історію письменниці. Джейн, як і Анна, закохалася в юнака без статків і розлучилася з ним, піддавшись наполяганням рідних. Але, попри те, що самій письменниці так і не поталанило влаштувати особисте життя, своїй героїні вона дає можливість бути щасливою.
